Nokia 7500 Prism review: Outstanding design (See all reviews)

The Prism has a 2-inch display (320x2,540 pixels) which we find to be up to usual Nokia’s standards, being both vivid and bright. Due to its 16.7 million-color resolution the graphics, photos, and games will be a delight.
You can change the font color and size, but unfortunately the backlight time and brightness level can not be customized.

You can also set up an animated screen-saver to appear on the display and lately convert into a screen-saver presenting a digital clock together with the date, and icons that will indicate any missed events.

All these details and graphics are perfectly legible in any light condition.
A sleeping mode option is also available, and the display will go out completely if activated.

As for calls quality we have tested Nokia 7500 Prism using Orange service. Unfortunately, during our tests the volume and the quality of our calls proved to be a bit too low.

We had many troubles hearing the other caller in noisy environments, yet the voices sounded natural with no static.
The loudspeaker instead had a clear audio; the ringtone volume was loud enough, making it audible even in crowded environments.

The Phonebook for Nokia 7500 is quite generous, storing up to 1.000 contacts with room in each entry for five phone numbers, email address, website, street address, birth date, job title, company, and nickname.
The contacts can be organized into different groups and paired with a photo or a polyphonic ringtone.

The phonebook can show the contacts saved in the phone memory or the ones stored on the SIM card, but also both lists in the same time.

The Prism user interface is similar to other Nokia models using the Series 40 platform.
The only difference is that this time Nokia have used their 5th edition, much to your pleasant surprise with a wide variety of user-configurable options of the phone.
The center of the navigation key opens the main menu, while the context keys can be assigned with a different function.

The main menu of Nokia 7500 can be visualized in four different ways: a grid of icons with and without captions, a list of items, and tabs.
The icons were designed with style; the active icon is animated and they can be freely re-ordered.

The background of the menu, as well as the wallpaper on the display, can be easily modified by applying one of the pre-installed themes.
Along with the standard theme, Nokia 7500 comes with 11 extra themes.

We must say here that most of these themes go pretty well with the design of the Prism.
