Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082 review: Affordable Dual-SIM Android

Even if the Galaxy Grand Duos makes a compromise when it comes to the screen resolution and internal memory, it does offer a pretty big big-screen and doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. The spec-sheet and the dual-SIM support suggest that the phone might be aiming at emerging markets, but the Grand Duos seems to have the potential to attract more buyers.

What is in the box:
- The Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 phone
- Wall charger and USB cable
- Handsfree
- User guides and documentation
- 2100 mAh battery

The Galaxy Grand Duos has the distinctive S III-like rounded corner design that is immediately recognizable but also looks like the Note II, with its metallic rim on the sides. The patterned tapered back makes the device comfortable to hold with one hand, although kind of difficult to operate with just your thumb, considering it has 5-inch display while also being a bit hefty (not bulky, though) for today's standards at 5.71 oz (162 g).

The 480x800 WVGA resolution with 187ppi on a 5-inch LCD display doesn't look good if we compare it to the HD and Full HD screens, but it is really usable, with decent viewing angles and enough brightness under direct sunlight.

The keys are well sized and allow comfortable use while the capacitive touch technology makes sure the transition between them and the screen is seamless. Above the phone’s display you can see the earpiece, light sensors and the 2-megapixels front facing camera. Volume rocker is located on the left side, while the power/lock key is place on the opposite side. Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not add a dedicated camera shutter.

The back side of the Galaxy Grand Duos holds the 8-megapixels camera, a single LED flash, and the loudspeaker grille. Under the battery cover, you'll find the two SIM compartments, microSD card slot and the 2100 mAh battery.
