“Sony Ericsson Aspen is the business phone with a conscience, perfect for any consumer or company who want to make a green choice in their daily work life.” Said Quentin Cordier, Global Marketing Manager at Sony Ericsson. “An affordable GreenHeart phone with the latest version of Windows Phone, the handset has a rich user interface and powerful productivity tools. But it’s not all about work, stay in touch with the fun parts of life with Media Browser and PlayNow, with simple access to social networks and quick and easy access to media files.”

Powered by Microsoft's brand new Windows Mobile 6.5.3, the Sony Ericsson Aspen features 3G support for both HSDPA and HSUPA, stereo Bluetooth version 2.1, WiFi, assisted GPS, 3.2MP (2048x1536 pixels) camera, 2.4-inch TFT resistive touchscreen display - capable of showing 16M colors, FM radio with RDS and support for up to 16GB microSD cards. The phone will also pack the company proprietary panel interface that we have previously seen on XPERIA X1 and X2.

The new device is also one of first phones to use version 6.5.3 of Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system. The new version features a more finger-friendly layout, support for capacitive touchscreens, and acts as a platform to enable multitouch handling. Microsoft has also improved browser performance with faster page load times and better memory management while improving the pan/flick gestures and zoom/rotational speeds.

Sony Ericsson Aspen should be available in selected markets from Q2 in Iconic Black and White Silver color variants. Its price tag wasn't disclosed today, but we'll keep you up to date.
