Smartphone manufacturer, HTC has unveiled its latest handsets: the HTC Touch HD, a feature-rich high-end model, the HTC Touch 3G, an entertainment focused mobile handset and HTC Touch Viva, an affordable touch phone with the benefits of HTC’s TouchFLO navigation, enabling quick, one-touch access to the people, messages and information people want.
“The HTC Touch HD, Touch 3G and Touch Viva embody our commitment to build a family of touch phones that are powerful and stylish but also offer something to everyone,” said Peter Chou, president and CEO, HTC Corporation. “Whether you’re a professional or a student you can now get an HTC touch phone with a beautiful touch user experience.”
The Touch HD is a stylish new device that features HTC’s beautiful TouchFLO 3D user interface to provide quick and intuitive access to the people, messages and content that are most important.
Running on a 528 MHz Qualcomm CPU, the handset uses 288 MB of RAM. Even with a stunning 3.8 inch screen of WVGA resolution, the Touch HD measures the acceptable 115 x 62.8 x 12mm. It packs quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G with HSDPA support.
The smartphone comes with integrated GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support, Wi-Fi, and a 5 megapixel camera. A standard 3.5mm headphone jack has also been designed-in, allowing its users to connect high-performance headphones with the device for the best possible sound quality. The HTC Touch HD comes preloaded with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
The Touch 3G offers an uncompromising touch phone experience with powerful Internet capabilities. The device is slightly thinner than its predecessor, the HTC Touch. The main improvements of the 3G version include a 3.2MP fixed-focus camera, 192MB of RAM and 3G with HSDPA support, rated for downloads of up to 7.2Mbps in speed.
The device runs on the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system and offers its users 256MB of built-in storage that is backed up by a microSD memory card slot.
The quad-band HTC Touch 3G has a 2.8 inch display of QVGA resolution and runs on a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP GPS receiver and USB.
The HTC Touch Viva blends an affordable touch phone with the benefits of HTC’s TouchFLO, making it an easy to use phone with an optimized mobile Internet experience. In addition, with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, users can easily synchronize their calendar, contacts, emails and more with their personal computer.
The handset runs on a slower TI OMAP 850 processor at 201 MHz and features a QVGA display, 2 megapixels camera and is a quad-band GSM without 3G or GPS support. Other features of the device include Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, USB and a microSD card slot.
All three handsets should be available to major European carriers in Q4 2008 and be introduced in other global markets shortly following.
